International rock sensation The Hives have today unleashed their latest high-energy anthem, "Paint A Picture," offering a fresh taste of their upcoming seventh studio album, 'The Hives Forever Forever The Hives'. The highly anticipated album is set to drop on August 29, 2025, via Play It Again Sam.
"Paint A Picture" arrives with a captivating new video, masterfully directed by Filip Nilsson & Henry Moore Selder, the acclaimed duo behind the visual for their global smash "Hate To Say I Told You So." According to the band, "‘Paint A Picture’ is a song about trying to convince people and yourself that living outside of society is a good idea. This song has been a fan favourite for ages among the lucky few who have heard it in concert."
This new single follows the success of "Enough Is Enough," released in April, which heralded the new album with grand unveilings in Mexico City and a memorable performance at New York’s Rockefeller Center. With "Paint A Picture," The Hives once again solidify their reputation for delivering unparalleled rock 'n' roll intensity.
'The Hives Forever Forever The Hives' features thirteen tracks, crafted in Sweden with long-standing collaborator Pelle Gunnerfeldt and legendary Beastie Boys member Mike D, who hosted the band at his Malibu studio. The album promises to be another testament to their distinctive sound.
To celebrate the new release, The Hives have announced an extensive European tour, kicking off on October 17 in Oslo and culminating in December. Notably, the UK leg includes massive arena shows in Cardiff (Nov 24), Glasgow (Nov 26), Manchester (Nov 28), and a headline performance at London's Alexandra Palace on November 29. Tickets for all UK dates are on sale now.
