Experimental indie duo Water From Your Eyes are set to make a significant leap with the announcement of their fifth full-length album, 'It's A Beautiful Place,' slated for release on August 22nd. This "gleaming megalopolis" of sound, as described by the band, promises a satellite view of musical eras and forms, playfully reframing the Y2K songbook with themes of time, dinosaurs, and space.

The album's prelude, the zero-gravity instrumental 'One Small Step,' sets the stage for a journey that is both awe-struck and keenly aware of humanity's small place in the vastness of the universe. "We wanted to present a wide range of styles in a way that acknowledges everything’s just a tiny blip,” explains Nate Amos.

Accompanying the album announcement is the release of the first single, 'Life Signs,' complete with a captivating video directed by the band's own Rachel Brown. The towering, muscular track kicks off with a nu-metal backbeat and rhythmic deadpan vocals, before pivoting into a signature WFYE chorus that is both cascading and celestial. The video itself is a clever exploration of television tropes, featuring the duo as a rotating cast of characters whose lives play out on screen, encapsulating "an entire lifetime within a short few minutes."

Following their critically acclaimed Matador debut, Everyone's Crushed, which garnered praise from The New York Times, Pitchfork, and Rolling Stone in 2023, Water From Your Eyes has solidified their position as a pillar of New York's alternative scene. They've expanded to a live quartet, supported Interpol on massive stages, and even established their own DIY boat show franchise on the East River.

To support 'It's A Beautiful Place,' the band has announced extensive North American and European headline tours. The North American leg launches September 22nd in Philadelphia, running through November 2nd in Denver, with stops in major cities like New York and Los Angeles. European fans can catch them starting November 13th at London’s Village Underground, with dates extending through December 7th in Lisbon. Tickets for all dates go on sale June 6th.
