Globally renowned Australian rock outfit Ocean Alley have today delivered exciting news to their legions of fans, announcing their highly anticipated fifth studio album, 'Love Balloon,' set for release on September 19th via Community Music. Accompanying the announcement, the six-piece has unveiled the record's vibrant title track, an infectious groove that offers a tantalizing glimpse into the band's evolving sound.

The newly released single, "Love Balloon," is a testament to the band's confident and exploratory approach on their upcoming album. Anchored by an irresistible rhythm section and a shimmering, Nile Rodgers-inspired guitar riff, the track introduces an unexpected dash of disco flair to their signature sound. It’s an effortlessly spontaneous, charming, and fun offering that harks back to the carefree energy of past hits like "Tangerine."

Speaking on the title track, the band shared, "‘Love Balloon’ stands out as the song that best encapsulates the direction we were heading with the whole record. Even though it was recorded toward the end of the process, by that point we were really finding our groove." They recounted a breakthrough moment in the studio with legendary producer Nick DiDia (Bruce Springsteen, Rage Against The Machine), realizing the chorus could become the verse, unlocking the song's undeniable charm.

Working with DiDia for the first time, Ocean Alley embraced a stripped-back, more emotionally resonant approach across the album's 10 tracks. 'Love Balloon' is described as a journey through life and love in all its complexity, balancing moments of expansive hope with introspective vulnerability, ultimately offering an escape from the outside world.

With over 1 billion catalogue streams and a reputation for magnetic live performances, Ocean Alley continues to solidify their position as one of Australia’s most influential contemporary bands. This album announcement comes ahead of a massive international touring schedule for 2025, including festival appearances at Lollapalooza, Sziget, and Austin City Limits. The band will also play major headline shows at Los Angeles' Hollywood Palladium and Brooklyn Paramount in New York, culminating in their biggest headline performance to date at London’s iconic Alexandra Palace on September 27th. Tickets for all dates are on sale now.
