Scissor Sisters are celebrating two decades of their chart-topping, genre-defying debut with the announcement of a special 20th anniversary deluxe reissue. Set for release on July 18, 2025, the expanded editions will be available as a 2LP vinyl and a 3CD set, featuring seven previously unreleased tracks from the band’s archives.
Originally released in 2004, Scissor Sisters became the UK’s best-selling album of the year, selling 2 million copies in the UK alone and nearly 4 million worldwide. With hits like “Laura,” “Comfortably Numb,” “Take Your Mama,” “Mary” and “Filthy/Gorgeous,” the album went 9x Platinum in the UK and earned the band three BRIT Awards in 2005, including Best International Album.
The new 3CD edition features a treasure trove of rarities, B-sides, and remixes, plus a freshly updated booklet with liner notes by music journalist Nick Levine. Among the unreleased tracks are “Step Aside for the Man,” “Night of the Comet,” and “Magnifique.” The vinyl edition includes three of these vault finds.
Fans can also expect a third CD packed with remixes from Hot Chip, Tommie Sunshine, Fatboy Slim, and more—revitalizing classics like “Take Your Mama” and “Comfortably Numb” for a new generation of listeners.
The reissue lands just as the Scissor Sisters embark on their first tour in over 12 years, following warm-up shows in Brighton and Bristol. Their “Happy Endings” arena tour kicks off in Nottingham and includes a Glastonbury appearance, a U.S. co-headline tour with Kesha, and a grand finale at Madison Square Garden.
Formed in New York’s underground queer scene, the Scissor Sisters—Jake Shears, Babydaddy, Del Marquis, and Ana Matronic—broke barriers with their flamboyant fusion of pop, glam, disco, and queer visibility. Over three decades, they’ve built a cult legacy with hits like “I Don’t Feel Like Dancin’” and “Let’s Have a Kiki.”
