Broadcasting legend Leona Graham is marking a remarkable milestone this month as she celebrates 25 years on air at Absolute Radio, making her the longest-serving female commercial radio presenter at a single UK station.
Leona made history as the first female weekday breakfast show anchor on UK radio, breaking new ground for women in the industry. Since then, she has become a beloved voice for generations of rock fans, known for her unmistakable tone, encyclopaedic music knowledge, and unwavering authenticity.
Throughout the 90’s she was also the recognisable voice of BBC 5 Live, BBC Radio 1, the GWR Group and The Box TV. She was the main voice of E4 for several years, and still voices ads and promo for both TV & radio.
Over the last quarter-century, Leona has interviewed music royalty, soundtracked countless commutes, and remained a constant presence in an ever-evolving radio landscape.
“It’s been an amazing journey. I still can’t quite believe it’s been 25 years!” said Leona. “I’ve grown up with Absolute Radio—and so have many of our listeners. It’s been a privilege to be part of their daily lives.”
Leona will mark the occasion by mentioning some of her favourite radio memories over the years on her Absolute Radio show week commencing 28th April.
