Collabs: Live at Garcia’s at The Cap, Twilight Muse casts aside studio polish and fully embraces the unpredictable joy of the stage. With a revolving door of guests—John Popper, Sierra Green, members of The Soul Rebels—the album plays like a mixtape from your favorite festival after dark.

The latest single “The Mayor” is especially noteworthy. The track’s swampy strut is anchored by George Porter Jr.’s bass and elevated by Meg Pollaro’s rich, controlled vocals. It’s a slow burn that nods to classic New Orleans funk but still feels rooted in the band’s indie-soul identity. In a musical climate where everything can feel a bit too rehearsed, the rawness here is refreshing.

Other standouts include a fiery reinterpretation of Stevie Wonder’s “Living for the City,” featuring Robert Randolph and G. Love, which channels the song’s social urgency through blistering slide guitar and blues-inflected energy.

Twilight Muse may still be finding their definitive voice, but Collabs proves they know exactly who they want to be on stage—and that might be the most important part.
