Hurts celebrate 15 Years of 'Happiness' with limited edition vinyl and special live shows

Marking a major milestone, synth-pop duo Hurts are celebrating the 15th anniversary of their influential debut album Happiness with the release of a special limited edition double-vinyl picture disc. Set for release on May 23rd, this expanded reissue comes just in time for a headline show at London’s O2 Academy Brixton on May 22nd, where the band will perform the album in full. The celebrations continue with a summer run of European dates, including both headline concerts and major festival appearances.
Originally released in 2010, Happiness made an instant impact with its blend of cinematic synths, emotional lyricism, and timeless pop melodies. The record spawned a string of hits such as Better Than Love, the sweeping anthem Stay, and the global favourite Wonderful Life, helping the band carve out a unique space in the alt-pop landscape. It remains a striking, cohesive work – from the stirring opener Silver Lining to the Kylie Minogue-assisted Devotion, to fan favourites like Sunday and Illuminated.
The 15th anniversary edition enhances the original tracklist with bonus material on side D, featuring songs from the deluxe release – Affair, Mother Nature, and Happiness – making their first appearance on vinyl. Rounding out the package is the brooding seasonal track All I Want for Christmas Is New Year’s Day and a remix of Wonderful Life by Arthur Baker.
Upon release, Happiness hit #4 on the UK Albums Chart and received Gold certification for over 100,000 sales. Its success stretched across Europe with Platinum accolades in countries like Germany and Poland, amassing 17 platinum certifications worldwide.
Following Happiness, Hurts went on to release four more acclaimed albums, most recently Faith in 2020. Vocalist Theo Hutchcraft has also become an in-demand songwriter, working with artists including Calvin Harris, Måneskin, and Louis Tomlinson.
The duo’s upcoming tour will blend intimate headline performances with major festival appearances throughout Europe. With both London and Berlin anniversary shows already sold out, fans are encouraged to secure tickets quickly.
