Gaucho are today announced as the winner of the COLGATE MAX FRESH and E-Music Television competition, winning an exclusive recording session at the world famous Abbey Road Studios in London.

At the beginning of October fresh new and unsigned music talent were invited to post their tracks online at emusic.tv, where more than 7,000 fans voted for their favourite acts. Tracks from the ten most popular acts were then put before a music industry judging panel, including The Feeling’s lead singer, Dan Gillespie, where Gaucho wowed judges and were hailed as the overall winner.

Panel member, Jo Charrington, Head of A & R, SonyBMG, Epic Records said; “When listening to any new music or demo the first thing I ask is, is it a good song? I was very impressed with the level of song writing produced throughout the competition.”

Gaucho were chosen for their fresh but current song titled ‘Well remembered’. Band members, Marcus Shaw (Lead vocals), Mark Lodge (guitar), Jason Ellis (bass/backing vocals), and Chris Barnacoat (drums) hail from Retford, Nottinghamshire and have been together for three years. Fusing rock with funky beats, Gaucho perform tracks that are powerful and connect emotionally to the listeners. Their sound is different while being interesting and relevant to the music audience of today.

Gaucho have won a 12-hour recording session working with an engineer in Studio 1 or 2 at Abbey Road Studios. Gaucho will be given a master copy and CD from their session that will help them advance their music career.

Vince Monsey, CEO, E-Music Television added; “When knocking on the door of the music industry, having a track which has been fully produced at Abbey Road Studios is a huge advantage and of enormous value. The Abbey Road experience will be something that the winning group will always remember. I wish Gaucho every success with their future career."

Andrew Brown, UK Brand Manager of Colgate Max Fresh commented; “This competition is all about fresh new talent and we believe this is what Gaucho can bring to today’s music scene. We have worked with numerous people in the music industry and a lot of thought has gone into choosing the winner, who we hope will go on to have a very successful future.”
