Today, Friday 21st June, chart-topping pianist & composer Alexis Ffrench unveils his new single 'Together Without You', taken from his upcoming album ‘Classical Soul Volume One’, set for release this Autumn via Sony.
Alexis' latest offering combines gentle keys with sweeping strings that build as the track progresses, to form a breathtakingly emotional track. Following on from the previously released 'Once', the track continues to fall in line with Alexis' referencing of idealising the past and the beauty of nostalgia - an upcoming theme on the classical soul pioneer's new album.
Speaking on his upcoming album Classical Soul Volume One’, Alexis explains that:
“The album draws inspiration from my dad’s vast record collection. Growing up, our home was filled with a rich soundtrack of Sam Cooke, Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder, Roberta Flack – some of whom I consider to be my earliest teachers
These artists, and the power of their collective voices, connected with me deep within and opened a gateway to a world of Classical Soul, and for that I am truly grateful.”
Alexis comments on his latest single. "I was reminded by the poem immortality by Clare Harner when I wrote this piece - in particular the line - 'I am the soft stars that shine at night.' I wanted to connect those inner voices and tapestries that weave their magic into ourimagined futures from a distant past."
