Roskilde Festival returns from 29 June to 6 July, welcoming 130,000 people from across the globe to the 615-acre festival site just outside of Copenhagen. The Danish non-profit festival today reveals one final addition to the 2024 lineup, with Charli XCX replacing Kali Uchis, who had to cancel her show at this summer's festival.
Close to 200 acts will play Northern Europe’s biggest music festival, with SZA, Doja Cat, Foo Fighters, J Hus, PinkPantheress, 21 Savage and Skrillex among the headliners. This year’s music lineup spans 43 countries and five continents. Through Roskilde Festival's extensive Art & Activism programme, festivalgoers also have the chance to experience music and art that opens up new perspectives, and activism that directly addresses the way the world is and could be.
It will be a pop extravaganza when British singer Charli XCX performs at Roskilde Festival next month.
With her blend of innovative productions, in-your-face aesthetics, and uncompromising energy, Charli XCX is one of the most interesting names in modern pop.
"Charli XCX sets new standards for hyperpop, and we are pleased to add an international name of such high calibre. Moreover, an artist who has been highly requested by our participants and who is releasing a new album later this week," says Roskilde Festival's program director, Anders Wahrén.
The sound of Charli XCX is fueled by cheeky references to 90s and 00s Europop and rave culture, and the pedal is to the metal heading straight into the future.
The highly acclaimed third album Charli (2019) made Charli XCX a standard-bearer for hyper-pop, and she has managed to keep her distinctive sound vital ever since. And soon, her new and highly anticipated album Brat will be released, with singles like "Von Dutch" and "Club Classics" showing that the pace is still high and the attitude still raw.
Sexyy Red moves to the Orange Stage
Charli XCX will perform on Friday 5 July at 21:00 on the Arena Stage.
St. Louis rapper Sexyy Red, who originally had that slot, moves to Orange Stage, where she will perform the same day at 18:00.
It is still possible to become a volunteer at Roskilde Festival.
