Singer/songwriter Nissu released his new music video for "Connection," an upbeat and motivational piece created during lockdown. The song and video highlight the power of overcoming obstacles and finding strength in our shared connections during challenging times.
"Connection" was inspired by the pandemic's restrictions, where the only permitted outdoor activity was a walk within a 5km radius. Nissu observed how social media became even more a platform for sharing experiences, with many posting selfies from their walks. This inspired the concept of the video, which emphasizes our interconnectedness even in isolation.
In the video, Nissu takes a walk in the park and snaps a selfie, magically transforming into another person who is also enjoying a walk. This transformation continues, featuring a total of nine cameos, illustrating the bond shared through these small, yet significant moments.
The cameos include Ru Paul's Drag Race UK stars Hey Baby and Charity Case, Big Brother UK Jenkin Edwards, 90 Days Fiance Cleo C, as well as UK influencers Krystal Lake, Az Franco, Dodo Potato, Shaz Awan and Rosie Turner.
"The idea was to convey the connection between all the selfies we were posting," says Nissu. "Each transformation symbolizes the unseen bond and solidarity among us during those challenging times."
Nissu shares that creating "Connection" was a therapeutic process, helping to navigate the difficulties of the pandemic and personal challenges. The project aims to share a message of connection, love, and compassion, reminding us that even in the darkest times, hope prevails.
Artist Bio Nissu, originally from Brazil and now based in Dublin, Ireland for the last 9 years, is a singer/songwriter with a passion for conveying emotions and showing the way he sees life, through music. His debut song, "Forever Mine," explores the power of love against societal judgments, featuring photos of couples worldwide, including influencers and celebrities. His second release, "U," highlights the essence of true friendship and relationships, starring actress and influencer Afshan Azad and other celebrities cameo.
Both songs are part of Nissu's debut EP, "Memories," set to release later this year. The EP is characterized by its visual theme of photos, aiming to foster connection and representation by including people from all over the world. "My music is a way of understanding the world around me and expressing myself artistically," says Nissu. "I hope people can connect with the messages I try to convey."
The music video for "Connection" was released on Nissu's YouTube channel today, and the song is available on all major streaming platforms.
