Today pop singer songwriter Benedict Cork releases his new album 'Notes On A Hopeless Romance'. It's a heartfelt account of quite literally being a hopeless romantic, and gives an honest glimpse into the highs and lows of queer love and the London dating scene. The release features guest appearances and co-writes from Tors, Martin Luke Brown (FIZZ), Hannah Grace and Scott Quinn.

Our focus single for the release is 'God Damn', a scathing rejection of homophobia and a fiery, empowering gospel-pop anthem for the LGBTQ+ community.

Benedict speaks on the single, “I walked into the studio one day with Dane Etteridge (co-writer/co-producer) and said I wanted to try something really different and out there for the album. He pulled up this video he’d seen of a preacher in the USA spouting all this hateful speech about LGBTQ+ people being ‘sinners’ and ‘perverse’ and we started riffing off of it. We found this heavy drum beat and gospel piano chord structure and then started writing this song all about how you can tear LGBTQ+ people down, and ‘set fire to the flag in our hands’ but that we’d still be ‘more of a man’ by choosing to love others, rather than brandish them sinners. It was a pretty empowering day!”.

Previous singles 'Nice Guy', 'Beauty Queen', ’Soulmates’ and 'Reasons I Loved You' saw plays from BBC Radio 1 Future Pop, and Benedict was also tipped as One To Watch in 2024 by Retro Pop Magazine. He's just finished up a US tour, and will be bringing his tour Notes On A Hopeless Romance Live to the UK & Europe this Spring:
