Eddie Witz and The Most High 'Jamaica Time' video premiere
03 May 2024
Step into a realm where the Californian Americana-folk meets the rhythmic heartbeat of reggae as Eddie Witz and The Most High unveil their latest gem and video, 'Jamaica Time'. Following the sun-soaked trail of their previous hit, 'My Island', Witz invites us once more to savour the Caribbean vibe in this musical odyssey.
In the accompanying video, we're transported to a visual feast of paradise: golden sands, azure waters, and verdant foliage. It's a perpetual summer encapsulated in celluloid, perfectly mirroring the infectious energy and radiant spirit of the track itself. 'Jamaica Time' possesses an uncanny ability to whisk listeners away to a tropical sanctuary, where Witz's velvety melodies serve as a balm to weary souls. His knack for crafting feel-good anthems shines through, blending introspective lyrics with a sun-kissed musical landscape, resulting in a vibrant, soul-stirring composition.
Speaking on the track, Eddie said, "The songwriting process commenced upon my return home following the challenging period of my Shingles attack. Collaborating closely with my wife, Michelle, herself a talented singer-songwriter from Australia, we began to channel our experiences and emotions into music. Additionally, I had the privilege of working with esteemed songwriting and producing partners such as Native Wayne Jobson and Brian Jobson, both multi-Grammy Award-winning talents, as well as Jeff Barry, a distinguished producer and songwriter inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame."
But Witz is not alone in this sonic voyage. Teaming up with a cadre of exceptional talents, including Sly Dunbar, Robbie Lyn, Adam Topol, Randy Cooke, and Steve Fekete, Witz forms Eddie Witz and The Most High, a collective of musicians whose expertise and passion shine through in every note.
In the magical realm of 'Jamaica Time', Eddie Witz asserts his prowess as a formidable presence in the Americana-folk landscape. With a melody as irresistible as the tide, he channels the songwriting sensibilities of luminaries like Jack Johnson and Jason Mraz while infusing his own eclectic blend of genres. A homage to the legendary Jimmy Buffett, 'Jamaica Time' offers a tantalising glimpse into Witz's forthcoming debut EP, 'I Am What I Am'. With a fusion of world music, folk, Americana, and, of course, reggae.
