Naughty Boy, one of the UK’s most successful and influential producers, and winner of Grammy, Ivor Novello and Mobo awards, marks his very welcome return with the release of his new single Blow Trees on April 19th. Released on Darco Recordings, ‘Blow Trees” features fast rising Manchester rapper Tunde, Birmingham’s finest MIST and Tottenham’s Abra Cadabra, and is the first music from Naughty Boy’s hugely anticipated, and long awaited, 2nd album.
Speaking of the inspiration behind the track Naughty Boy says: “I’m very excited to have Mist, Abracadabra, Tunde & Wardz on my new single “Blow Trees”. It feels like a new sound for me but I started with UK rap & it’s nice to be back in 2024 with these incredible artists. Starting the song with Mist was perfect because we are good friends and he set the tone. I feel everyone delivered on this bop of the summer! Your boy is back!”
It has been quite the ride for Shahid Khan, aka Naughty Boy. His journey began when, fuelled by a unshakeable self-belief, he won a grant from the Prince’s Trust before battling it out on Deal or No Deal. Determined to make a life in music, he ploughed the cash prize straight into his music and in little over a decade, has established an extraordinary career, working alongside world-class artists such as Beyoncé, Rihanna, Tinie Tempah and Ed Sheeran. Along the way he was also the man responsible for discovering and launching the careers of global stars Emeli Sandé and Sam Smith and was the proud recipient of the Outstanding Achievement in Music Award at The Asian Awards.
Post pandemic, 2022 was a busy year for and he threw himself back into music on a variety of projects including working with the award winning Nitin Sawhney on the forthcoming movie ‘What's Love Got To Do With it’ which was recently premiered at the prestigious Toronto Film festival.
2024 promises to be a huge year for the chart topping artist/producer as he gets set to remind the music world why he is one of the most respected and sought after producers with the release of his long awaited second album.
