Emma Henderson, known professionally as Curly Hendo, is a distinguished international session bassist with achievements spanning continents, from Australia to the UK, Europe, and the South Pacific.

From the young age of three, Curly was immersed in the world of entertainment, receiving training in ballet, hip-hop, jazz, and tap which led her to perform competitively. This foundational experience not only instilled in her the confidence but also an understanding of what's needed for compelling stage presence—a trait that allows her to stand out as a bassist today.

Her journey with the bass guitar started at eight years old, setting the stage for a career marked by versatility and passion. Curly’s early academic achievements demonstrate her natural talent, having earned a scholarship to Berklee College of Music in Boston and the Australian Institute of Music.

Her entrepreneurial spirit, honed through years of disciplined training and competition, inspired her to launch a business that books artists' shows worldwide. Curly’s multifaceted involvement in the music industry, from producing and music direction to supporting other musicians, underscores her natural leadership qualities and her comprehensive understanding of the industry's dynamics.

Curly's professional trajectory as a bassist is equally impressive, featuring collaborations with a diverse range of artists and performances in high-profile venues and events globally. Her experiences range from featuring in professional Australian touring musicals, TV shows, and music festivals, to playing bass in television commercials in Japan and Australia. Her studio work includes appearances on numerous studio albums, soundtracks, and music videos, highlighting her versatile talent.

Among her notable accomplishments is her role as the bassist in Mae Muller's "Anti Climax" music video, which amassed over 3.2 million views, showcasing her ability to captivate audiences worldwide. Her talent also shines through her performance alongside Love Island star Antigoni Buxton in the UK and for a finalist on The Voice Australia in 2023.



Her skill and stage presence have been integral to memorable performances, including the Mercury Prize Awards with Jessie Ware, Raye's Wembley Stadium appearance at the City Capital Summertime Ball and Zara Larsson's performance on the BBC Michael McIntyre show.

Curly’s influence extends beyond live performances. She has been a spokesperson for BBC Introducing, shared her expertise on Young Talent Time TV Show, and as an ambassadorship for the Sydney Conservatorium of Music and Rockschool AMEB Music.
