Folly Group have shared a new remix of by Brooklyn upstarts Model/Actriz. The track "Nest" is taken from the band's critically acclaimed debut album "Down There!" which was released earlier this year via So Young Records.
The remix comes on the heels of an incendiary UK headline tour which saw the band pack out Scala in London, as well as playing alongside contemporaries such as Yard Act. The track also follows a recent remix of the band's earlier single "Strange Neighbour" by Mandy, Indiana.
The latest remix of "Nest" sees Model/Actriz lend a glitchy and warped club inflected twist to Folly Group's already inimitable sound, with effected vocals, leftfield electronics, and dance inducing beats.
Speaking on the collaboration, drummer / vocalist Sean Harper says, "Beyond being huge fans of theirs - because who isn’t? - Model/Actriz felt like, in a way, kindred spirits. Hear me out. They refract club and industrial influences through the prism of live instrumentation, but when they do, it sounds wildly different to when we do. That in mind, we loved the idea of trying to coax out their inner club heads without the obstacle of making something that has to then be realised as a band. Frankly, we were stunned and flattered that we got such a meticulously crafted electro cut back. Obsessed with it tbh."
The band are currently on a headline tour across Europe, with a short break at the end of April before heading to the US to play a short run of shows. Full dates are as follows:
