Tide Lines release their latest single, ‘Homeward Bound’. A year on from the chart success of their 2023 album, An Ocean Full of Islands (#13 in the UK and #1 in Scotland), this latest single represents a fresh start for the band as they look forward to a huge 2024. Listen
here.
‘Homeward Bound’ is a song about going back to your roots with lyrics based on nostalgic memories of childhood in rural Scotland.
Lead singer, Robert Robertson said: “I wrote the song from the perspective of someone heading home to where they grew up and being immediately transported back to the joy and innocence of youth. It’s inspired by memories of being a kid on a hot, summer’s day - riding a bike with pals along a river and through fields without a care in the world!”
Formed in the heart and hearth of the evocative Scottish Highlands, Tide Lines have a universality that transcends genres and cultural boundaries.
‘Homeward Bound’ was recorded in the band’s studio and rehearsal space in a former church on the Isle of Mull where the writing process is inevitably influenced by the wild and ever changing Hebridean environment that surrounds them. This summarises what Tide Lines, at heart, are: a rock band in touch with the geography and the culture that formed them.
They now embark on a European tour to the Netherlands, Denmark, and Germany before returning to their adopted home town of Glasgow for 3 SOLD OUT nights in the city’s iconic 1900 capacity Barrowland Ballroom. All this before a summer full of headline festival slots.
“Alt-pop that looks to American heartland rock, whilst retaining the tartan patterns of home”
Wonderland “Expansive singalong moments and classic songwriting that takes in the band’s formative inspirations with hints of The Waterboys, Frightened Rabbit, and Snow Patrol. It’s warm, tender and utterly charming.”
The Line of Best Fit “Optimism, striking lyricism, and undeniable talent are just some of the key features that make up Tide Lines”
