Tyla, the Grammy-winning global sensation, is the latest confirmation for July 12th on the NOS Stage at NOS Alive'24. This marks the artist's debut at the festival, sharing the day with names such as Dua Lipa, Aurora, Floating Points, Gloria Groove, Larkin Poe, Michael Kiwanuka, Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats, T-Rex, and The Heavy.
Sofi Tukker, the new-york based electronic music duo and The American singer-songwriter Alec Benjamin are also set to perform at NOS Alive’24, on July 13th on the Heineken Stage, at the 16th edition of the festival, which takes place on July 11th, 12th, and 13th at Passeio Marítimo de Algés.
Tyla's music defies boundaries, with songs that offer an innovative approach to pop and R&B, shining with the euphoria of South African amapiano and supernatural production that makes them unique. Hailing from Johannesburg, the artist gained international prominence with her debut single "Getting Late" featuring Kooldrink, whose refrain message, "Not gonna waste my time," took on powerful meaning. Despite initial challenges, Tyla persevered, releasing new singles like "Been Thinking" and "To Last" through Epic Records, showcasing her versatility and advancing towards her goals.
With a childhood marked by music, Tyla always knew her passion was singing. Despite adversities, she never gave up on her dream, inspired by icons like Rihanna, who motivated her to pursue her place in the music industry. Her determination culminated in hits like "Getting Late," "Overdue," "Truth or Dare," and the resounding "Water," which earned her first GRAMMY® for Best African Music Performance, highlighting her internationally and solidifying her position as a talented and unique artist.
Currently, Tyla is focused on expanding her reach and creating her debut album, continuing to follow her intuition and passion for music. On July 12th, she arrives at the NOS Stage for a unique and unmissable performance at NOS Alive'24.
