Lambrini Girls will share new single ‘God’s Country’ via City Slang (Boy Harsher, Caribou, King Hannah, Los Bitchos, Pom Pom Squad, Sprints) this week.
Officially out 15th Feb at 9am GMT, it will be premiering early with BBC Radio 6 Music’s Steve Lamacq this evening after 4pm. It’s their long, overdue call-out of the government, the rise of the far right, and why Britain isn’t so great. ‘God’s Country’ was recorded by Gilla Band's Daniel Fox in the deep dark days of December. They fuelled themselves with Christmas lights and Guinness until Lilly’s bass sounded like a jet engine taking off and Phoebe blew her voice out.
Originally from Brighton, the two piece are Phoebe Lunny (Vocals/Guitar - she/they) and Lilly Macieira (Bass - she/they). They’ve made a name for themselves through unforgettable live performances and support from the likes of Variety Magazine, BBC Radio 1, NME, The Line Of Best Fit, KEXP, Consequence, Evening Standard, CLASH, So Young, and recently covered Kerrang! Magazine alongside Sleater-Kinney, bagged a nomination for Rolling Stone UK’s Rising Stars Award, and even Iggy Pop is a fan.
Lambrini Girls also announce a headline show at London’s SCALA for 13th June, after their recent Moth Club show sold out months in advance with a waitlist of 600+ where they missed out on them literally setting the stage on fire.
