If there’s one word that encapsulates Parra for Cuva’s sound it’s “wanderlust”. His music has become known, above all, for a sense of worldliness, with the title track and the first release from the artist’s upcoming album continuing this journey and setting the precedent for what is to come. The single ‘Mimose’ is infused with hazy textures and elements of soothing tones, formed whilst camping in New Zealand through a storm, the single is composed through utilising various chord progressions and layers of vocals that crescendos into a monstrous build up, and allows for themes of escapism and urgency to flow through. The single, and for what's to come of the album is a sign of a maturity that Parra for Cuva is allowing for himself, whilst also a more composed inner peace, which he is now allowing to manifest itself through his music.

Parra for Cuva’s capacity to create with vulnerability feels far from the cold, hard techno Berlin is famous for, and with everything seeming to speed up, he felt a deep urge to slow down a notch. “I felt a little frustrated, everything I did was sounding slightly the same lately. I wanted to get out of this Berlin bubble and my head a little bit.” After refreshing his mind and allowing himself to reset, the German producer explored the state of inspired idleness in his new music, reflecting on how it can both positively and negatively impact creativity. When discussing this, the artist explained: “Creativity needs space and time to flourish and even a little boredom”. Recently, the German artist found that state of ‘inspired idleness’ in Liguria, Italy where he rented a hut over springtime for two consecutive years. The stay consisted of socialising, good foods, and the fresh smell of mimosa shrubs blooming outside, inspiring the title track, and ultimately the album.

In recent times, the artist has been supported through press by the likes of Resident Advisor, Electronic Groove, and EDM.com, performances at Burning Man, Sziget and a prolific Cercle set that went viral, there is every reason to be excited. Meanwhile, the artist has sold out shows at E1 and Koko, and appearances at Junction 2 and an upcoming live show at Drumsheds for Drumcode on the same lineup as Adam Beyer, Yotto, Kolsch and others, 2024 is shaping up to be a monstrous year for Parra for Cuva.
