Global superstar Myke Towers closes out an incredible year with the release of ‘LVEU: Vive La Tuya... No La Mia,’ his fifth studio album. The album is now available on all digital platforms as of today.
The powerful 23-track opus is an extensive album that hails 22 never-before-heard songs and harbors the global hit “LALA.” ‘LVEU: Vive La Tuya... No La Mía’ marks the second album that the Puerto Rican phenomenon has released in 2023 and serves as a follow-up to ‘LA VIDA ES UNA,’ dropped on March 23rd. With the album, Myke consolidates his position as one of the most prolific lyricists of his generation, as well as one of the most distinguished exponents of rap and reggaeton today.
The multi-platinum star announced the album through his Instagram account with a distinctive video unveiling three facets of Myke having a conversation about the sounds that should prevail in this production: street, perreo or commercial. “We're going to look for a middle ground, what women want is perreo,” says one of the versions of Myke, “Where the women are, everyone is going to be there.” In ‘Vive La Tuya... No La Mía,’ all of Towers’ musical facets coexist.
Introducing the album with a hauntingly captivating synthwave-inspired reggaeton, Myke dedicates the focus track “LA FALDA” to women who, regardless of people’s opinions, “perrean” (dance) all the way to the floor in their miniskirts. The track became a sensation among El Young King’s fans even before its release – having been teased through Towers’ social media and during his “La Vida Es Una Tour” in the United States.
Drawing inspiration from the tropical influences of his childhood, “LA CAPI” is a catchy, romantic merengue in which Myke states, “a mí me me enamoró la fama, pero si es por ti la suelto (I fell in love with the fame, but for you I’d let it go).” Continuing the nostalgia-filled journey, “LA RONDA” introduces a blend of Cuban rhythms with an urban twist, while “ESA NENA” showcases a timeless hip hop number.
The album also includes the global phenomenon “LALA,” which since its release on ‘LA VIDA ES UNA,’ has accumulated over 614.9 million streams on Spotify alone, making it Myke's first ever global #1 on the Top 50 Global chart. “LALA” also reigned the Billboard charts – having reached #1 on the Latin Airplay and Global Excl. U.S. charts, and hit #3 on the Global 200 chart. The track also enjoyed a special momentum on TikTok generating more than 6.6 million creations, took first place on the prestigious LOS40 list in Spain, and hit #1 in Spain, Chile, Bolivia, Colombia, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Venezuela, Ecuador, Paraguay, Peru, Honduras and El Salvador.
‘LVEU: Vive La Tuya… No La Mía’ comes on the heels of a revolutionary year for the Puerto Rican superstar. In September, Towers kicked off his “La Vida Es Una” tour – successfully completing a three-city tour in Mexico with stops in Guadalajara, Monterrey, and a sold-out show at the Pepsi Center WTC in Mexico City. Shortly after, Myke began an impressive 21-date tour throughout the United States which has enjoyed multiple sold out shows across major cities such as Chicago, New York, Los Angeles, Boston, amongst others, and will conclude this Sunday, November 26, at the Kaseya Center in Miami.
