Will Joseph Cook shares video for 'Nobody's Home' and new mixtape Novella

Will Joseph Cook today shares the video for his single ‘NOBODY’S HOME’, lifted from his new mixtape NOVELLA, which was released on Friday 20th October via Bad Hotel / The Vertex. Featuring the singles ‘PUNCHIN’’, ‘FEARLESS IS THE FLAME’, ‘MF BASSLINE’ and ‘BORN TO LOSE’, NOVELLA is an eclectic and experimental project that sees Cook explore new sonic landscapes and ideas in his unique indie pop stylings.
Directed by long term collaborator and friend Bertie Gilbert, the video for ‘NOBODY’S HOME’ was shot around some of Will’s favourite shops on Berwick Street in Soho, London.
About NOBODY’S HOME, he explains: “Nobody’s home is a string of feelings felt and conversations had with someone that truly gets you. The kind of interactions where you’re excited to be your true self, with every nuanced take you share received by open arms and playful curiosity. In my mind, the song’s story plays out across busy social settings and public places, with the vibe between us serving as a protective bubble that makes every idea novel and inviting. What a dope feeling that is! Surely it deserves a song.
The video is a visual representation of how you see the person through your eyes, whether it’s your bestie, partner or fam. They’re such an unfathomably good and safe vibe that they literally glow, lighting up the world around them. We shot the video in Soho, London, dipping between a few of my favourite spots.
“‘Dunno Curated’ is the clothing store, it’s my favourite spot in London to pick up vintage. Always such a vibe in there. The pub is about 2 minutes from there called The Blue Posts. It’s one of those proper old school london boozers and has a genuine local feel which is mad for how central it is.
Behind the glowing entity is my friend Miles who spent the entire day brightening people's day in a green LED glowing morph suit. The silliness of the shoot really captured the energy of the song, just having a great time hanging out, doing dumb stuff for the hell of it.”
Last month Will played a storming intimate show at London’s The Grace to celebrate the release of NOVELLA.
Will Joseph Cook is one of the UK’s brightest young talents. Now 26-years-old, Cook has been developing his multi-dimensional approach to crafting infectious songs since he was just 14. Finding inspiration in everything from the youthful indie charms of Phoenix, Vampire Weekend and Darwin Deez, and more recently the pop/R&B flavours of Drake, joji and Doja Cat. To date, he has almost 900m combined streams and views across streaming platforms and YouTube.
His third studio album Every Single Thing via Bad Hotel / The Vertex was released last year, a collection of unashamed love songs. Will Joseph Cook’s third album follows his 2020 sophomore Something To Feel Good About, which featured viral triumph ‘Be Around Me’ and his 2017 debut Sweet Dreamer. In autumn of 2022 he collaborated with alt-pop darling Tessa Violet on the candy-coated single ‘Gummy’ before joining her on her North American tour.
Will has taken his high-energy live show worldwide, culminating in sold-out shows at London’s Omeara, Heaven, Electric Ballroom, and Lafayette. He has also performed at high-profile international festivals including Glastonbury, Reading & Leeds, Boardmasters, Victorious, Secret Garden Party, Reeperbahn, Green Plugged Seoul, Corona Capital in Mexico, and Tecate pal Norte.
