The Driver Era announce first ever live album 'Live At The Greek'
03 November 2023
The Driver Era announce their first live album - ‘Live At The Greek’ is available to pre-order from today and released on December 8th 2023.
The album will help fans experience the raw energy, passion, and talent that have made the band one of the most exciting and dynamic live acts in the music scene today. It was recorded at their sold out Greek Theatre show in LA, and is a testament to the power of independent artistry and the unbreakable bond between a band and their devoted fans.
Ross Lynch comments, “All the years it has taken us to get here, from being signed, parting ways with our label, to rebranding and creating The Driver Era. We went all the way back down to playing little clubs, and then we just worked our way back up to The Greek and it feels…crazy.”
The Driver Era are Ross Lynch and brother Rocky Lynch who togther write and produce all of their music. The band came together in 2018 while on tour with their former group R5. The band have now seen sold out world tours including over 120,000 tickets sold in 2022 across the US, Europe, Japan, Australia and South America. In 2023 the band played Rock Werchter, Pinkpop, NOS Alive, MadCool, Tecate Emblema, Osheaga, Wonderbus, Ocean Calling and Lollapalooza Paris, as well as selling out the iconic venue, The Greek in June this year, where this album was recorded.
All of these achievements are a clear demonstration of their loyal and unwavering fanbase, Ross comments, “These are fans that will come to ten shows a tour and we’ll see them back to back to back. All the people showing up at the airport, all the people coming to the meet and greets, we’ve never been a band that’s been played a lot on the radio, we’ve always had this tight-knit group of fans. I feel really really grateful for them as they are quite literally - making our dreams come true.”
Last month the band released their first new music of the year - listen to ‘Rumors’ here. The single came shortly after Ross appeared in Troye Sivan's viral video for his single ‘One of Your Girls’. The video racked up over 4M YouTube views in four days alone and saw huge coverage across global media including British Vogue, Rolling Stone, Out, Dazed, Entertainment Weekly, Hypebeast, Harper’s Bazaar, Wonderland Magazine and lots more.
Since making their debut with ‘Preacher Man’ five years ago, The Driver Era have racked up an impressive 450+ million streams and 29 million combined social media followers, they have released one studio album, several EPs, a mixtape and a series of critically acclaimed singles. Their music showcases a variety of influences, including INXS, Bruce Springsteen and Prince, plus a love of hip-hop producers like Pharrell and will.i.am. As well as being one half of The Driver Era, Ross is an acclaimed actor, best known for his role as heartthrob Harvey Kinkle in Netflix’s ‘Chilling Adventures of Sabrina’ and starring as the lead in the critically acclaimed biopic film ‘My Friend Dahmer’, after spending five years playing Austin Moon on the popular Disney Channel Original Series, ‘Austin & Ally’.
