Berlin’s very own ‘Band of The People’ PONTE PILAS serve up a fine vintage with new single 'In Vino Veritas' just released this week ahead of their new EP coming next year.



Berlin’s own Späti-rock pioneers, Ponte Pilas are a Scottish/Ecuadorian quartet made up of Calum Bolland, Ismael Rivera, Daniel Rivera and Alejandro Iturralde who come together in salute to the spirit of rock ’n’ roll. After a number of successful previous releases including an EP and debut album along with several international shows, the band are no newbies to the live scene having built a receptive audience and support from press and radio including Wonderland, Clash Magazine, Earmilk, Visions, Tonspion among many others. ‘In Vino Veritas’ is the first single off their brand new EP (out February 2024) and comes with this delightful official video directed by Stefanie Schmid Rincon (Daði Freyr, Laura Lee & the Jettes).

Their now legendary live shows have built them a fanatical following in their home city and led to touring opportunities across Europe, from Spain to Sweden via Britain and Bulgaria. Describing themselves as the ‘Band Of The People’, who mingle with the audience before, during and after shows and bring a healthy dose of humor to their performances. It’s this philosophy towards their music that has helped secure dates with the likes of indie legends The Wedding Present, punk upstarts King Nun and The Clockworks as well as some of Europe’s biggest exports, including Portugal’s answer to Jack White, The Legendary Tigerman. 2022 saw the band invited to play The Great Escape festival in Brighton, around which they played their first UK tour, as well as various showcases (e.g. Future Echoes in Sweden, Spike in Bulgaria) across the continent which garnered them industry praise, whilst the summer of 2023 saw the band play their biggest show yet at Fusion Festival and headline a sold-out Urban Spree in Berlin as well as a number of well-received support tours.
