Following the rave reviews for the album’s lead single “Walk With Me," a stunning collaboration with Alejandro Escovedo, NYC singer-songwriter Diane Gentile has revealed her highly anticipated new album ‘The Bad and the Beautiful,’ out now via Velvet Elk Records. Enveloping listeners in a tapestry of sharp wordplay, juicily woven narratives, and that unmistakable NYC rock n' roll flair, ‘The Bad and the Beautiful’ is an ode to characters who test boundaries, push limits, and navigate the complexities of life with a touch of glorious tragedy.

To celebrate the release, Gentile has shared a music video for "Lace Up Your Sneakers,” featuring James Maddock. Vividly narrating the tale of a carefree slacker who met an untimely end, set against the pulsating backdrop of invigorating disco, Maddock’s vocal and guitar perfectly complements Diane's hauntingly pristine vocals in this track.

‘The Bad and the Beautiful’ reveals the stories of Diane and her community of artistic eccentrics. From introspective folk-rock tracks like "Dance 'til Dawn" to gritty NYC rock 'n' roll anthems like "Shimmy" and "Sugarcane," Diane's music traverses a rich musical landscape, capturing the essence of her vibrant and diverse influences.

As someone deeply rooted in the vibrancy of NYC, Diane’s influences span across legends like David Bowie, Lucinda Williams, The Rolling Stones, and literary maestros like Henrik Ibsen and William Shakespeare. The eclectic amalgamation of these inspirations results in songs that exude the energy of punk rock, and the depth of classic literature.

With a history of sharing stages with artists such as Richard Lloyd, Steve Wynn, and Lucinda Williams, and collaborations with the likes of Alejandro Escovedo and Chuck Prophet, Diane's artistry continues to command attention. Acknowledgments like her single "Motorcycle" being dubbed the "Coolest Song in the World" by Little Steven's Underground Garage Sirius XM channel further cement her place in the musical tapestry.

‘The Bad and the Beautiful’ was crafted in collaboration with producer Merle Chornuk at Atomic Sound Studios. Diane's band of Gentle Men, including Colin Brooks on drums and Jason Victor on guitar, deliver a powerful and dynamic sound that perfectly complements Diane's introspective lyrics and captivating melodies.

A native New Yorker, Diane Gentile grew up in Flushing, Queens, surrounded by a musical family. Her early exposure to music, coupled with her innate talent, led her to become a self-taught pianist and songwriter from a young age. Over the years, Diane has honed her craft while working in the music business, gaining invaluable knowledge of the industry and nurturing her passion for songwriting.

As Diane embarks on regional tours to support her new release, fans can eagerly anticipate the next chapter in her musical saga. Stay tuned for continued updates!
