Skrillex has joined forces with fellow producers PEEKABOO and G-Rex and veteran grime MC, Flowdan, on new single ‘Badders’.
Available everywhere now, the collaboration originally came about after Skrillex heard the track on an Instagram Reel posted by PEEKABOO. According to PEEKABOO, "G-Rex, one of my best friends, was going through some personal hardships, so I invited him to come to Detroit. I thought we could channel that emotion into our music, and that's when we created ‘Badders’.”
Flowdan, whose vocals are also a cornerstone of Skrillex & Fred again..’s UK Top 20 single, ‘Rumble’, later heard the track during a studio session and felt compelled to lay down his verses. Skrillex then reached out to work on the track’s arrangement, adding additional sounds of his own to cement ‘Badders’ as a bruising slice of moody, UK-flavoured bass weight.
Such has been its explosive impact in the club already, ‘Badders’ was rewound 7 (!) times during a recent b2b set between Skrillex, PEEKABOO, Sicaria and Flowdan at Fire in Vauxhall earlier this month.
Skrillex, PEEKABO, Sicaria and Flowdan then reunited to record a two-hour Badders Radio special live from London record shop, KINDRED, alongside M1OnTheBeat and Sarz.
