Released under Ben-Addiction Music (Believe) this bitter-sweet, soulful ballad is in complete contrast to her previous single ‘Utopia,’ showcasing Tara’s versatility and artistic growth.
Unlike the driving, guitar-driven epic of ‘Utopia’ which earned glowing reviews and accolades from, among others, Sirius XM (US) Radios The Pulse - ‘Sweet Nothing; reveals a more minimalist and intimate side to Tara’s voice and character. Before the song’s melody and lyrics were written, the spiritual atmosphere of the track struck a chord with Tara and her writing partners. The original track was composed and produced by Benny D (Boy George, Kylie, Robbie Williams, Paloma Faith).
"As soon as I heard Benny D’s instrumental arrangement of what would eventually become ‘Sweet Nothing’ we were totally blown away and within an hour the track was complete," Tara explains.
'Sweet Nothing' delivers dreamy pop rock hooks, skillfully weaved into an irresistible chorus chant that will undoubtedly stay with fans long after the song's conclusion. The track opens with spiritual atmospheric cries, immediately drawing the listener into an enchanting musical journey that is uniquely Tara Hack.
Benny’s production expertise helped elevate the finished record to new heights, perfectly capturing the essence of Tara's evocative lyrics and soulful vocals. Co-writer, Joe “Two Ton” Killington also cameos on vocals in a conversational duet with the artist.
Tara's journey to her dreams in the music industry started out with humble beginnings. Often accompanying her conductor father on train rides and busking at stations between Long Island and NYC, her passion for music was ignited at a young age. Eventually making a pivotal decision to follow her star, she travelled across the Atlantic to London, a city she believed held the key to her artistic growth and ambitions.
"It was a gut feeling; I somehow knew London was where I needed to be to launch my career," Tara shares.
And fate proved her right, as within days of arriving she had the good fortune to meet and impress music industry veterans and hitmakers such as Phil Pickett, double Ivor Novello award-winning co-creator of Culture Club’s ‘Karma Chameleon’ along with his team, including Benny D, and current EDM songwriter and recording artist, Joe "TwoTon" Killington all of whom quickly recognised Tara’s talent and jumped at the chance to collaborate.
Tara's dedication to her craft and her ability to weave captivating stories through her music have earned her admiration and respect from both her peers and the industry. With ‘Sweet Nothing’ now captivating a growing audience worldwide, Tara Hack is destined for great things in her music career.
