Slo/Tide drops new single 'Too Much Weight' featuring Sir Sly
08 August 2023
Rising alternative music project, slo/tide, led by Spencer Chamberlain, the acclaimed vocalist of Underoath, is thrilled to announce the release of their latest single, "Too Much Weight," featuring Sir Sly.
This collaboration marks a pivotal step in slo/tide's ever-evolving journey, infusing fresh energy into the alternative music scene. "Too Much Weight" showcases the seamless blend of Chamberlain's powerful vocals with the unique electronic-infused alt-rock signature of Sir Sly, promising an unforgettable listening experience for fans and music enthusiasts alike.
Spencer Chamberlain, the creative force behind slo/tide, brings his rich experience as a vocalist for Underoath into this compelling new project. Chamberlain's distinctive musical sensibilities are on full display in "Too Much Weight," further elevating the track's impact.
Spencer shared “When I made this song, I didn’t do it remotely like a lot of features are done these days. All four of us got in a room together and created a song from scratch. This is the outcome”
“The first time we all got in a room together I picked up a guitar and started playing that guitar lead you hear on the song, immediately Landon started playing the bass while Jason added synth layers…before we had time to speak Hayden had a beat that we built the rest of the song around. The mutual respect we had for each other's work carried over into the songwriting and a lifelong friendship. This is what came of our first session together”
Landon Jacobs from Sir Sly added “Writing this song with Spencer was simultaneously cathartic and fun. As we were writing I was thinking a lot about the impact of sobriety in my relationships, how I had seen addiction end the lives of a few of my friends, and grief. Life can be quite heavy and difficult, much more so in isolation. The solution seems to be community. This tune is like a strange mix between dark rock and therapy, which I find quite endearing.”
slo/tide has received significant acclaim from influential outlets such as Alt Press, Brooklyn Vegan, and Blabbermouth. With the release of "Too Much Weight," the project is sure to cement its status as a must-watch act within the alternative music scene.
In addition to this exciting release, Chamberlain will be hitting the road this summer with Underoath, delivering thrilling live performances to audiences across the country. While juggling the two projects, Chamberlain continues to demonstrate his unwavering dedication to pushing the boundaries of music and delivering electrifying sounds to his audience.
"Too Much Weight" is available now on all major streaming platforms, including Spotify, where Slo/Tide is running an exclusive campaign to boost follower growth and drive engagement. Tune in, turn up the volume, and join slo/tide in celebrating the release of "Too Much Weight."
