Will Heard, critically acclaimed singer and songwriter known for his soulful vocals and unique sound, is set to release his new single, "Flashlight”. The track is taken from his highly anticipated de- but album, due for release later this year.
London-born Heard, to date best known for his platinum selling No.3 hit “Sonnentanz: Sun Don’t Shine” with Klangkarussell, as well as multiple collaborations, both on record and live, with chart topping act Rudimental, returns with a solo single that captures a perfect blend of soulful vocals, stacked harmonies and funk inflected electronic beats.
Written by Heard with Grammy nominated Linden Jay (Doja Cat, Stormzy, Chloe Bailey) and MXXWLL (Ty Dolla Sign, Snoop Dogg), who also produced the track, “Flashlight" is an electrifying song that showcases Will Heard's captivating rangey vocals, unique tone and on point songwriting skills.
Speaking about the new single, Will says: “As soon as I heard the beats and groove for this track they spoke to me in quite a deep way and reminded me of rolling through London late at night. The lyrics and melody came pretty quickly the song is me addressing where I’ve been and it’s about finding that thing that illuminates your world and makes you feel inspired for me that’s harmony and groove... and music.”
It’s not every musician who influences as diverse as Herbie Hancock, Celine Dion, Sly Stone, Missy Elliott and, er, Lisa Simpson, among his inspirations, but then there’s not many artists quite like Will Heard.

In addition to Rudimental, with whom he has toured the world as well as featuring on and co-writing tracks for We The Generation, their chart-topping sophomore album, Will has collaborated with chart-topping artists such as Kygo, Anne-Marie, MNEK, Jess Glynne, Raphael Saadiq, George Clinton, Tom Misch, Pete Tong, Jimmy Napes, and even old friend Cara Delevingne.
