Following an exciting 2022 for rising star Nicola Høie, she returns this year with a stellar run of music releases. Up first, she today reveals a special acoustic version of her most recent single, Skydiving and announces The Acoustic Sessions Pt 1. Alongside the track release, Nicola also premieres the accompanying video, live on YouTube.

Speaking of Skydiving (Acoustic) and The Acoustic Sessions Pt.1, Nicola commented: I’m looking forward to my acoustic sessions coming out. I have a soft spot for acoustic music. I like the simplicity and intimacy that comes with doing them so stripped back. It’s not always easy to pull off and it can feel quite vulnerable with nothing to hide behind but I always like a challenge and I hope I did them justice. When I recorded It Must Have Been Love I was a little hesitant at first because it’s a big song and the version we wanted to do was very simple with only a piano, I was unsure whether I could carry that song well enough, but I’m so happy with it. I hope everyone likes it!

And speaking of the accompanying video, Nicola added: “Late last year, I spent a day at the legendary RAK studios in London and filmed a couple of acoustic videos, including the one for Skydiving that’s out now. Recording at RAK and working with the team behind those videos was such a fun experience! I can get a little nervous and, in my head, sometimes when I am in front of the camera but everyone was so supportive and thoughtful that they made the experience really enjoyable and I can’t wait to do more.

The rising Norwegian star released her debut tracks in 2022, starting with Secrets which got off to a flying start and was included in several playlists across the globe on both Apple Music and Spotify, including Best TikTok Viral Songs 2022 and Beats Of Tomorrow. Secrets kickstarted a series of releases of pop bangers and future hits from the soon to be superstar. The follow up, Never Buy My Love was also picked up on a variety of playlists including Spotify’s Fresh Finds and the highly regarded New Music Friday: Popjustice edit. Skydiving followed and was swiftly added to Norway’s New Music Friday playlist and has been gathering momentum across Europe.
