M1LLIONZ is back. Setting his intentions for 2023, the award-winning British rapper marks his return today with his first offering of the year ‘RIGHT DERE’. It arrives with a striking visual, directed by the iconic TG Omori AKA Boy Director.

‘Right Dere’ is a loud and confident return to music. The 169-produced single is complete with a thrilling beat that M1llionz rides effortlessly with straight-talking bars, compelling clarity and an immaculate flow that has become instantly recognisable. It’s a further display of M1llionz’s entertaining yet thought-provoking storytelling and unwavering skill that has quickly earned him a stamp of approval across the globe. “I keep telling bro it’s not worth it but I’m a hypocrite, 'cause I got so much to lose but still I’m in this park looking inconspicuous.” The track details the challenge of battling your old self, and for M1llionz it’s a moment of reflection: “All eyes on me so I had to adapt.”

In true M1llionz style, the new single is accompanied by an expertly crafted visual directed by award-winning multidisciplinary, Boy Director. Core fans will notice the similarities with the MOBO Award-winning ‘LAGGA’, one of M1llionz’s most recognised visuals to date. Raising the bar once again, M1llionz delivers a truly cinematic experience for his fans, immersing himself fully in Nigerian culture.

Set in the heart of Lagos, M1llionz finds himself in the middle of an oppressive political riot that sees him go head to head with his childhood friend, Agbo. M1llionz and Agbo used to play soccer together after school, under the bridge in Lagos Marina. Deep in the jungle Agbo begins his initiation into camp, whilst M1llionz is at the trench house readying for battle with his team. Youths are preparing for a war in the hood, mothers are praying for peace.

“My return to music is going to be different, I’m not just a drill artist and I don’t want to be labelled that. Right Dere is my last drill song for a while and I had to make it extra special for my fans, especially after LAGGA. Shooting videos internationally is my thing and working with Boy Director on this was the perfect way to end this era.” M1llionz says.

The new single lands just weeks after surprise Christmas Day freestyle ‘Punchline Rap’, which has amassed over half a million views to date. 2021 saw the release of M1llionz’s highly anticipated and critically acclaimed debut mixtape Provisional Licence, one of the most thrilling projects to come out of the UK rap scene in recent years. The mixtape soared straight into the charts, debuting at #10 in the UK Official Album Chart and further proof that 2021 truly belonged to him. The mixtape was an invitation into the true extent of his pen, taking listeners on an immersive journey of the highs and lows of his life to date - with guest features from the likes of AJ Tracey and Headie One and a breadth of support from the likes of The Guardian, Wonderland, The Sunday Times, Dazed, Pitchfork and more.

M1llionz is a musician with intent, whose work transcends far and wide. Delivering vivid accounts of life as a young black man in Britain, his music is simultaneously global in its perspective. One of the most nomadic rappers you’ll meet, M1llionz refuses to be confined to his surroundings. Hit track LAGGA, head-spinning Mobbin and 10 To Da O shot in Chicago, are just a few examples of M1llionz striving to unpack a new layer of his artistry. Embracing communities and cultures across the world, M1llionz continuously finds himself in spaces outside his hometown in Birmingham to inspire his forever-flourishing craft.

With a hint of more new music on the way, stay tuned for more from M1llionz this year.
