Leftfield, electronic and dancefloor pioneers, have today returned with “Full Way Round”. It is a new taster of their forthcoming album This Is What We Do. The single is a powerful collaboration with Grian Chatten, the vocalist for one of the most acclaimed contemporary bands, Fontaines D.C.
“Full Way Round” is a thrilling combination of styles: Leftfield’s tough, electro-indebted production is punctuated by Chatten’s iconoclastic vocal delivery, every syllable delivered with purpose and a steely intent. It is a moment of pure revitalisation, recorded in Leftfield’s studio in West London. “Full Way Round” is imbued with a raw sense of power, hewn from moments of pure inspiration.
Leftfield say, "Full Way Round was a perfect collaboration between beats and good vibes. Hard work and fun. Grian's vocal is a free-flowing journey to be felt and experienced, rather than analysed. His energy and enthusiasm spits out from the speakers. Whenever I hear it, I’m reminded of the excitement in the studio when he recorded it."
The song is a bolt from the blue and a reminder of the boundary-pushing spirit that courses through Leftfield. “Full Way Round” follows previous releases “Accumulator” and “Pulse”, which after constant rotation reached the BBC Radio 6 Music B-List. All three tracks are set to appear on This Is What We Do - an eclectic longplayer which finds the iconic dance act exploring themes of love, acceptance, diversity and healing - a burst of positivity following turbulent years.
Last month, Leftfield recently announced a UK tour which sold out instantly - they will be performing in London, Bristol, Glasgow and Manchester throughout December, performing songs from the forthcoming record for the first time.
