Caribbean-inspired and Costa Rican based band Trickified have released their new single ‘Everything is Jah Love’, just in time to deliver audiences a dose of last-minute, feel-good, warm and sunny vibes as summer 2022 draws to a close.
The four-piece band is led by lead vocalist Paul Babladelis who wrote the song, and backed by Joe Bradley on drums and vocals, Jakab Selner on bass and vocals and Tricia Babladelis on vocals. Together they have captured something special with their latest up-beat bop. If you’ve ever asked yourself, what does Jah Love mean? Trickified sum it up nicely.
Through the reggae-fuelled beat, Jah Love is celebrated as an all-encompassing love which is for ‘all the people, all the planet’ – it’s there for when we lose our way, and as Babladelis so aptly puts it, it’s ‘everything we know, everything we forgot, everything that will possibly be.’
When writing ‘Everything is Jah Love’ Babladelis said his mission was “to put some positive feelings into the world and help people feel good about life” – a feat he achieves with flying colors.
The transformative and up-lifting sound of ‘Everything is Jah Love’ transports you to Costa Rica, where Babladelis lives and regularly plays. It’s an immersive experience which makes you feel grateful for the world we live in, while at the same time craving a Caribbean sunset and a strawberry daiquiri.
Babladelis describes ‘Everything is Jah Love’ as “original and fresh”. You can hear his deep roots in rock, blues, Americana as well as Caribbean calypso and reggae throughout the song as well as echoes of fellow singer-songwriter Michael Franti and reggae artist Aplha Blondie.
As a regular member of one of Costa Rica’s most famous Calypso bands, Babladelis said the inspiration for ‘Everything is Jah Love’ came from his experiences of playing in the band and working with the crowd week in and week out. Stream

‘Everything is Jah Love’ is the latest release from Trickified following earlier releases ‘Look for When We Gonna Wake Up’ and ‘What They Do Best’, which was released in 2018. Babladelis says there’s more in the pipeline for Trickified with a few songs going through production which he says are in the same genre wheelhouse of ‘Everything is Jah Love’.
But it’s not all jamming on the Caribbean coast. With a PhD in resource development, Babladelis has previously worked in environmental management of natural resources in the precious ecosystems of Costa Rica and Panama. This passion for the environment and the world we live in is clearly celebrated through his music.
“My belief in a single system, humans and the environment, comes out in a lot of songs, but especially this one” he says. “It’s about celebrating life, seeing the positive and understanding the unity of all people and the planet.”
He adds that his driving goal through music is “to bring joy or comfort to people, help them forget their problems for a little while, or inspire them to see something positive and new.”
With the positive vibrations which echo throughout ‘Everything is Jah Love’, it’s impossible not to be left feeling upbeat. The fusion of Trickified’s talents, backgrounds, and creativity will leave crowds desperate for another dose of their positivity-fuelled sound. There are no tricks here though – what Trickified have done with ‘Everything is Jah Love’ is pure mastery.
‘Everything is Jah Love’ is out now on all major streaming platforms.
