British singer-songwriter and the UK’s Eurovision 2022 star runner-up Sam Ryder will perform live at London’s Lafayette on Monday 26th September exclusively for National Album Day – helping to officially launch this year’s event on 15th October which celebrates the art form of the album. The concert will be in aid of charity War Child, which works to secure a safe future for every child living through war.

The gig will see Sam perform a selection of his much-loved hits and some exclusive tracks from his upcoming album “There’s Nothing But Space, Man!” in an intimate setting in celebration of National Album Day 2022, for which he is an ambassador.
National Album Day Ambassador, Sam Ryder said: “With my debut LP out in November, I couldn’t be more thrilled to launch National Album Day with this exclusive concert to celebrate the journey of creating an album. I’ll be performing brand new songs and some special favourites, and in the process we hope to raise much-needed funds for War Child and for children affected by conflict, not least in Ukraine. Can’t wait to see you there and sing our heads off!”

To get early access to tickets for this one-off show, fans can pre-order Sam’s debut album ”There’s Nothing But Space, Man!” before midnight on Wednesday 7th September.

With his debut album due out on 18th November, Sam Ryder is truly an artist in his prime. His hit single “Space Man” etched its way into the UK’s public consciousness after stunning performances at this year’s Eurovision Song Contest and The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. It charted at Number 2 in the Official Singles Chart, making it the highest charting Eurovision song in over a quarter of a century and one of the biggest selling tracks of 2022. Sam’s career has seen stratospheric lift-off after first rising to prominence during lockdown when his TikTok videos began to attract plaudits from the likes of Alicia Keys, David Guetta, Justin Bieber and Sia.

Taking place on Saturday 15th October and now in its 5th year, National Album Day, shines a light on the art form of the album, celebrating the creativity and artistry that goes into making an album. This year’s theme of Debut Albums will showcase a broad range of first album releases across multiple genres and decades – from debut recordings that have gone on to become classics to those that are perhaps only now being fully appreciated or which, years later, merit reappraisal. Previous year’s themes include Women In Music and The 80s. Sam is among a number of artist ambassadors for this year’s event.
