Coventry based rapper Kanda, releases his anticipated Debut 5 track EP 3-2-1 with lead track I Think About U, OUT NOW.
Having racked up a few thousand streams to date, the young rapper continues his musical journey with the release of his debut 5 track EP and lead track ‘I Think About U’. Pre Save
here.
Inspired by the likes of Bruno Mars and J Hus, Kanda has amassed over 400,000 streams from his previous releases and uses his lyrical storytelling to speak up about a number of different socially dividing topics. His music has gained recent support across the board from the likes of Channel 4’s Sunday Brunch, Wonderland, Rollacoaster, DSP playlists, a number of Regional and national radio stations and even 2021 MOBO Awards where he opened the press launch.
'The name ‘3-2-1’ was inspired by a metaphoric meaning for my career, signalling the initiation of my journey. This year has been super positive, and this EP is a signal that I am only hoping to keep moving forward and achieve more in the years to come.'
The 5 track EP offers a mix of genres that represent him as an artist but also as a person, with many different vibes throughout the EP, from the hype of ‘I Think About U’ to the peaceful and melodic sounds of ‘Waiting For You’. IHGYN (I Have Got You Now) was released early 2022 with Suicide Prevention charity CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably) gaining over 50,000 Spotify streams along with Track Of The Week (22.4.22) from BBC 1Xtra (being played on all shows including Sian Anderson, Cuppy and Lady Leshurrs). The EP also features the recently released single KISS (May) which gained over 12,000 Spotify streams and over 25,000 video views with its video.
The EP really shows the strength in Kanda’s ability of being able to write both powerful and emotive songs and songs that are more fun and carefree, all wrapped up in top production and exciting fresh beats. Overall, ‘3-2-1’ is not just an EP, it's an introduction of KANDA to the world and a small glimpse of what he is capable of doing within this industry.
With new music already on the way, we're excited to hear what's to come from this young talent over the coming next few months.
