After huge success in the U.S. pitting real musicians playing original tunes against one another, the Bodog Battle is heading to Europe with an axe to grind. Bodog Battle went down in rock n’ roll history with over 7,500 unsigned bands playing 350 live shows across the U.S. for a panel of judges featuring John Lydon, the legendary Sex Pistols frontman.
With some of the biggest names in music hosting, judging, and guest presenting, this European road trip is looking for warriors worthy of a staggering $1-million global music contract with Bodog Music. Hot on the heels of the U.S. Battle, the 2008 European tour is set to be even bigger and better with 1,000 bands already signed up. With the cutoff date for sign ups less than two months off, the competition is gonna’ get fierce.
Bodog Music recently hit the U.K. music scene hard, kicking-off European expansion in a monumental night at London’s Hammersmith Apollo with an epic show from the Wu Tang Clan, the newest addition to the Bodog Music label.
Bodog Battle’s European leg sees the best online entrants belt it out across 12 cities - London, Manchester, Birmingham, Glasgow, Dublin, Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Stockholm, Hamburg, Cologne, Berlin and Munich with the climax at The Astoria in London’s West End in March, 2008.
So how do bands get involved?
Bands can register online now, and upload their music, video, biography and photos on www.bodogbattle.eu to be a part of this kickin’ music competition. The first round of auditions takes place in September at intimate venues in London, Manchester, Birmingham, Glasgow, Dublin, Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Stockholm, Hamburg, Cologne, Berlin, and Munich.
Through November and December, the show takes over Europe’s finest music venues to tease, tempt and delight the judges and fans into voting them through to the next stage.
The best band from each city moves on to battle it out for the $1-Million recording contract in the European final at London’s Astoria in March 2008.
