Following on from the release of his highly-praised comeback single ‘You And I’ last month, singer and songwriter Lee O’Brien has now returned to deliver the title-track to his eagerly-awaited new album ‘This Is Me’, out 26th February 2021 via OBO Recordings.

Produced and co-written by the legendary Francis Rossi of Status Quo, ‘This Is Me’ marks the frontman’s long-awaited return to the music scene, and the record’s title-track shows exactly what we have been missing all these years. With a fresh and uplifting direction from start to finish, the new single ‘This Is Me’ sees the artist in rejuvenated spirits, channelling conventional pop-rock attitudes and reinventing them in his own vibrant and distinctive aesthetic.

Speaking about the new single, he said, “‘This Is Me’ is about my journey as a musician - finding out what I was destined to do.”

After spending the last few years dabbling in and out of the music industry, Lee O’Brien took the opportunity that the global pandemic gave him to create his latest body of work. During the lockdown he finished various songs he had started to write years ago. He called producer Francis Rossi and asked if he could help with the music. Together, they penned three singles for the upcoming album while producing the record in its entirety. With a relationship that spanned the last twenty years, Francis kindly offered the use of his studio and recommended producer/engineer Andy Brook. Lee carried on writing through lockdown and when it was over, he booked Andy and headed over to the studio. They spent months working together to produce an album that not only highlighted many of the key moments in Lee’s life, but acted as a vessel to keep the group afloat during lockdown and show that something incredible could still emerge from something so troubling.
