Biohazard, Powerflo, Billybio, and now The Nowhere Team?

Yes, Billy Graziadei endorses The Nowhere Team, a new movement aimed at discovering and empowering a new alternative scene.

He has been a role model for several generations of fans and musicians, not only because he’s been one of the founding fathers of the hardcore music with Biohazard or because he’s an incredibly talented musician and producer, but also because his values and attitude throughout his career have never changed.

Billy never capitalized on his glorious past and always moved forward, starting over and over with new exciting projects like Powerflo and Billybio, not afraid to get back on the road in a small van every time.

"He’s rebellious, he speaks loud and he’s always pushing you to the edge and yet, Billy is the most caring person we’ve worked with. When he was producing our record he gave us so much advice and never spared his time to help us get exposure and good connections. He’s like a mentor to us and he definitely plays a big part in our recent success". That’s what Vincent from the band Yard Of Blondes, the emerging LA death-pop band says about his experience with Graziadei.

Billy really cares about the younger generation of musicians and that’s why he is endorsing a new movement determined to help a new alternative scene emerge: The Nowhere Team.

Vincent Jacob and Yard Of Blondes are part of this collective of artists and fans and that’s why they naturally asked Billy to be part of it. Together, they’re using the time they have now, because of the pandemic, to question why a new alternative scene is failing to strive and what can be done to change that.

The Nowhere Team first originated in France at the end of the ’90s. The collective of bands took the French scene by storm and soon they were raging on all the main stages across Europe. What set them apart from other bands is that they had a very powerful street team. Thousands of fans coordinated their efforts online to push the bands and gave them the strength they needed to conquer an industry that didn’t see this new wave of artists rising. More than 10 years after the end of the first wave, the collective is back.

Founding member David Gitlis (Enhancer/HK Corp) has reached out to the fans and together they started coordinating new actions through Discord, Instagram, Facebook, and Twitch. Fans are offering their different skills to help to create this new force. Some fans are photographers, others are web or graphic designers and everybody is here to lend a hand to make this a real movement. They have designed and produced a clothesline and the money they’re earning is 100% used to fund the actions of the movement. They also help source the new bands they think deserve attention and every week, the Nowhere Team curates and updates a Spotify playlist of the finest alternative bands here.

In France, bands are starting to connect and collaborations are brewing…
Fans are discovering new bands and they don’t feel isolated anymore. The excitement is noticeable, just like when things started in 1998… One thing is different though : with the digital revolution, the Nowhere Team adventure can now become global.

With Billy Graziadei, they want to give the movement an international push and create a new chapter in the US.

Billy Graziadei helps sourcing new bands and helps the word getting out.
Everybody who recognizes themselves in what the movement stands for is invited to connect.

The first tool of the collective’s U.S. chapter is the podcast "Hanging on Sunset". In this new show, members of the Nowhere Team ask themselves and their guests what they can do to help new alternative bands to emerge and how they can structure themselves to revive a scene struggling to get exposure.
They are starting an honest conversation about the state of rock music today and, ultimately, they are building a community of passionate people heading in the same direction.

Billy Graziadei was the podcast’s guest last week. He shared exclusive news and insights. Listen to the show and catch up with what he has to answer to the question “What do you do to save rock’n roll?”.

"It’s not about the genre of music you play, says David, it’s more about sharing values and the fact that we, now more than ever, need a space for alternative music."

The Nowhere Team is already talking with labels and bookers in Europe and Canada, and they hope to meet the same success in the US.
