Bombay Bicycle Club release their new live album, ‘I Had The Blues But I Shook Them Loose - Live At Brixton’. The album was recorded on 8th November 2019 at the band’s sold out Brixton Academy show, celebrating the 10th anniversary of their debut album.

To coincide with the release, the band have also shared a behind-the-scenes documentary from the show (watch here) and a new video to accompany the live version of ‘Always Like This’ comprising fan footage of the track performed throughout the band’s career.

The band have also been busy filming tutorials for fans on their YouTube channel with each member of the band demonstrating how to play their parts of classic tracks, ‘Always Like This’ and ‘Dust On The Ground’.

Bombay Bicycle Club will return to Konk Studios, where the album was originally recorded, for a livestream performance of the album on 15th December. Tickets to the performance will be available for free to fans who have pre-ordered the album from the band’s website, or for £5.50 as a standalone purchase here. The performance will air live at 8pm UK time and be available for 48 hours on-demand. It will be filmed by cinematographer Dave Tree, who shot the band’s first ever music video for ‘Evening/Morning’ and all 11 music videos for their second album, ‘Flaws’.

Speaking about the live album release, the band say, “This time last year - in the good old days when live music was possible - we played a handful of shows around the UK to celebrate the 10th anniversary of our debut album, ‘I Had The Blues But I Shook Them Loose.’

“This tour finished on a Friday night at Brixton Academy in London, and we took the decision to record the show that evening.

“This was a particularly special night for us in any case - seriously a show that we'll all remember forever - and especially considering what's happened since, we're grateful we have a memory like this to keep us all going until live music can resume.”

‘I Had The Blues But I Shook Them Loose - Live At Brixton’ will be available digitally, on vinyl and CD and as a double LP, which includes the original studio album as well as the live recording.

Upon its release in 2009, ‘I Had The Blues But I Shook Them Loose’ was met with acclaim and cemented a barely-out-of-school Bombay Bicycle Club as key players in a thriving indie music scene; an unpredictable new act and a rapidly rising one too. Its second single, ‘Always Like This’ is still an undeniable live favourite and slots into their set throughout those ten short years. The album’s youthful vitality and thoughtful takes on life as an ’00s teenager have continued to enchant new audiences as the band’s career has flourished, and stayed with day one fans as they’ve grown up alongside the band.

Today, ‘I Had The Blues…’ is celebrated as some of the band’s most beloved work and the beginning of a remarkable career.
