Following the announcement of the Katherine Jenkins: Christmas Spectacular, which is due to play in cinemas worldwide and available to own and stream this December - the biggest selling classical artist of the century, Katherine Jenkins OBE, is also set to release the original soundtrack from this outstanding musical feature film. Featuring many much loved festive classics, the soundtrack will be released on the 11th December via Decca Records.

Katherine Jenkins: Christmas Spectacular sees the Welsh sensation return to her all-time favourite venue to perform seasonal favourites and carols with full nostalgic Hollywood musical glamour and wonder. The production was given unprecedented and exclusive access to The Royal Albert Hall, the historic venue which also marked the 50th time that Katherine has performed there.

Katherine is joined by friends, beloved actors Vanessa Redgrave and Bill Nighy, Operatic icon Sir Bryn Terfyl, Italian Tenor Alberto Urso, American Broadway star Marisha Wallace, English National Ballet Lead Principal Erina Takahashi, The Band of the Royal Air Force Regiment and many more to share an unforgettable and enchanting experience this Christmas.

Katherine says, “Every December I perform a Christmas concert at the Royal Albert Hall; it is one of the highlights of my year. Sadly, this year arts venues around the globe are facing challenges and traditional Christmas concerts and carol services are under threat. After the 18 concerts I gave from home during lockdown, I realised how music can bring people together so rather than leave audiences without, we took the challenge head on and made a fully-fledged feature film, a musical extravaganza from the Royal Albert Hall.

My family, friends and I hope to bring comfort and Christmas cheer to other families and audiences around the world – whether they are together or apart. I appreciate that not everyone will be able to make it to the cinema for the big theatrical treatment and so we will be releasing it on DVD and the soundtrack on CD so that everyone can get in a ‘Christmas Spectacular’ mood with us!”.

Throughout this year, Katherine has brought some much needed light to a global audience, performing every Saturday night live online during lockdown. The successful at home concerts which, as promised, Katherine has recently started again during this second winter lockdown, have amassed over 3.5 million streams to date.

This summer Katherine joined forces with the late Dame Vera Lynn to release a duet of 'We'll Meet Again', which went on to top the iTunes chart. 100% of Katherine Jenkins and Decca Records’ proceeds from the single were donated to NHS Charities Together to support the incredible NHS staff and volunteers caring for COVID-19 patients.

On 8th May, Katherine led tributes to commemorate VE Day 75, and made history by becoming the first person to perform to an empty Royal Albert Hall. The half-hour concert was streamed to audiences around the world via YouTube. The concert to date has raised over £30k for SSAFA and £25k for The Royal Albert Hall. The concert brought a message of hope and togetherness, with a virtual duet of ‘We’ll Meet Again’ with Dame Vera Lynn – a message that has resonated around the nation as people are again separated from their loved ones at a time of crisis.
