Jay Korner played the drums in several bands before going solo as an artist. His music is inspired by the funk scene of the 70s and artists like Buddy Miles, Funkadelic, Fatback Band, Ohio Players, Prince, Maze, Stevie Wonder, The Blackbyrds, The Isley Brothers, Sly and the Family Stone, and many more.
