Get Up has become a powerful track of solidarity and hope through the darkness. Although the band still cannot get out there and gig to the world they shall continue working on their first album from lockdown and have so much more creativity to unleash on the world. Watch this space......

"We are lucky to have the equipment we need in our homes to record our individual parts for the album and we have already started sending files to each other to work on the songs. We could of course prefer to do this together in a studio, but we've worked so hard writing on an amazing album, so nothing will stop us from releasing it.” Kings Daughters

Get Up, by Kings Daughters (feat. Brian May), in partnership with Mind, 10% of each purchase of the song goes to the charity, Out now.

Kings Daughters (KD) is a musical collision of flamboyant pop and gritty rock. They are a rare mixture of geeks and rebels, consisting of lead singer Talia Dean, guitarist Isabel Lysell and drummer Vicky O'Neon. They are a colourful blend of different personalities and attitudes on a strong and united musical path. The music is real, raw, written from the heart, unapologetic and.... loud.

The band were getting prepared to rock the British music scene last month with their feel good debut single, Get Up, produced by, and cowritten, with rock legend Brian May. Although a bizarre twist of fate meant that the launch party and gigs had to be cancelled, they were still determined to “get up” and launch the song, letting radio stations blast the infectious tune into living rooms across nations.

Get Up was written with a powerful message from the band that no matter who you are, where in the world you are or how defeated you may feel, there is always a way back up. Now all human beings everywhere need this reinforcement more than ever, so Kings Daughters made the very difficult decision that the show must go on as a virtual and broadcast mission.

Lead singer, Talia Dean, who has suffered from anxiety for many years, says the lyrics came naturally to her as a combination of crucial, wise words people said to her during dark times that had an impact, made her think and motivated her to rise from her despair. And as a result, she powerfully belts these words out in song form, sharing notes of positivity with the world.

Get Up launched on 15h April and hit No 13 in the charts, cheering millions of people up across the UK and world.

KD partnered with Mind and are giving 10% of each purchase of the song to the UK's leading mental health charity.

Kings Daughters became the first act in history to create a music video from lockdown and they invited the whole world to get up and dance in it, spreading a wave of positivity across nations during this uncertain time. Entries poured in from 44 nations, from the UK to the US and Tanzania, across cultures, ages, occupations, from humans to hedgehogs. NHS staff, celebrities, construction workers, milkmaids, lawyers, cheerleaders, a wedding party.... and many more star in the video, performing the Get Up move.
