Every week, Music News and Liberty Music look at the best new releases from emerging and self-releasing artists.

Ray Dawn:

Ray Dawn knows how to keep the attention of any listener, whether it’s the laid-back rhymes or if it’s the transitions into the different instruments used throughout the track. But the Atlanta based artist has always remained humble, even remembering when he was almost thrown out of school for focusing too much on his music. He entered a competition and after ranking fifth in hip hop legend Common’s music competition, the talented rapper came to the conclusion that he needs to be the hardest worker in the room. With the restraints of life now broken, Ray is now consistently working on his flows and becoming someone to keep an eye on.

Reagan:

Reagan’s writing is not born out of wanting, but necessity. Her outlet for seeking and sharing her truth was nurtured as a kid, penning poems from an early age. When it comes to the latest track ‘Do U Notice Me?’ It's clear that this is effortless for Reagan. The silky vocals mixed in with the discussion of relationships and the pitfalls of them, whilst the guitar and percussion over takes the feel of the 90’s in this track. Then again, these vibes aren’t unusual from Reagan, she began writing as a teenager and sharing her feelings in the recording booth.

Yianna:

New York based artist Yianna uses music to find self-acceptance. Exploring romance, rejection and relationships through her candid lyricism, her new single “When I’m Loving You” is earnest and heartfelt - detailing the intimate beginnings of a romantic encounter. During the time of recording, the talented artist was inspired by Alicia Keys and the way she conveys her lyricism into the production and with that the dreamy soundscapes and beautiful guitar melodies blended together to combine into her latest track with the promise of more music to follow.

Ruben Dawnson:

Ruben Dawnson will leave a lasting impression with his debut EP, Echo Emotions, and it’s all because of the consistently solid songwriting. The young Norwegian explores the perils of anxiety, loneliness and fear, but through all that emotional fire, Dawnson also comes to have a greater understanding of himself. This latest edition to the artist's discography is all about building up his thoughts and emotions over the years and confronting his true self. It’s an anxiety anthem bursting with beautiful harmonies alongside a true coming-of-age story that blends perfectly into this pop project that is all about growing into yourself.

Glvsshouse:

Quickly after dropping his debut track ‘Games’, which was picked up by both Respect and Fame Magazine, glvsshouse has emerged from quarantine with the show stopping video for Strangest. The talented artist has gained traction through Soundcloud, but also from his music videos as this latest one shows the realization of our current climate. The visual is shot in a deserted neighbourhood and asks the question of why are people acting so strange? The newest creation offers Boston’s Donald Grunge and the melodies fit perfectly as the singer-songwriter ventured into music as a punk rock frontman and even after some re-branding and a bright future ahead, his music is looking like one for the history books.
