Today (Monday 3rd February) on her BBC Radio 6 Music show (7.30am-10.30am), Lauren Laverne announced more 6 Music Festival By Day events taking place on Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th March at FEST Camden, as part of this year’s festival.

The day-time line-up at FEST will feature panel and Q&A sessions, poetry, live music and more, with names on the line-up including Jehnny Beth, JJ Burnel, Madness and Tony Visconti.

The 6 Music Festival 2020 takes place across Camden from Friday 6th – Sunday 8th March at Roundhouse, Dingwalls, the Electric Ballroom and FEST, Camden.

6 Music also announces today that on Saturday 7th March, actor Jodie Whittaker (Doctor Who) will join Shaun Keaveny as he broadcasts his show live from the 6 Music Festival By Day at Dingwalls (12.30pm-4pm). As co-host, Jodie will be reporting on all the action from the first day at the festival.

Jodie Whittaker says: “I’m so excited to be getting back on air with Shaun. I’m a massive fan of 6 Music and having the opportunity to present a show once again on the station is always a dream come true. It’s an incredible line up and I’m personally so excited to see Róisín Murphy & Brittany Howard to name but a few!"

On Saturday 7th March at FEST, Tony Visconti, who famously produced much of David Bowie’s work and JJ Burnel, bass guitarist of the Stranglers, will join Liz Kershaw to discuss the musical legacy of Camden. Later that day, 6 Music’s Gilles Peterson will be in conversation with three-time Grammy award winning pianist and producer Robert Glasper and the legendary Madness will discuss their personal connection to Camden with Gideon Coe.

On Sunday 8th March, the 6 Music Festival will mark International Women’s Day with an all-female line-up of artists - Nadine Shah, Jehnny Beth, Anna Meredith, Kim Gordon and Kate Tempest - performing at the Roundhouse in the evening. Ahead of this, 6 Music By Day at FEST will feature a discussion on forming an artistic identity between Mary Anne Hobbs and Jehnny Beth. There will also be a special performance from the Roundhouse Choir, one of London’s most dynamic youth choirs, followed by a live broadcast from FEST of Radcliffe and Maconie’s enduringly popular Crisps on the Radio. Plus, Steve Lamacq will host a Pub Quiz with team captains Kate Puckrik and Blur’s Dave Rowntree.

Julie Cullen, Commissioning Executive, 6 Music says: “We’ve got a fantastic two days of panels and sessions planned as 6 Music takes over FEST, Camden as part of this year’s 6 Music Festival.
