The final UK and Ireland show of Take That’s Greatest Hits Live Tour was broadcast live to cinemas from Cardiff’s Principality Stadium on Saturday 8th June, grossing more than £1.8 million (£1,811,448 as verified by comScore) at the UK and Irish box office, with further cinemas to report. This figure includes encores screened on Sunday 9th June.

Take That: Greatest Hits Live has broken the current record to become the highest grossing live music cinema broadcast in the UK and Ireland.

The band’s entire spectacular live show, plus exclusive cinema content, was shown in 630 cinemas across the UK and Ireland to over 100,000 fans over the weekend. The event was also broadcast live in 25 countries across Europe and will screen in a total of 31 countries and over 1,300 screens worldwide in 2019.

The cinema event was part of Take That’s epic 30th anniversary celebrations which saw the band play 38 dates to sell-out audiences around the UK. The live broadcast gave UK and Ireland fans a final opportunity to see the show before the band head to Europe for an additional 14 dates throughout June. Recorded encore screenings of the concert have been scheduled in over 300 cinemas nationwide.

Take That are renowned for their spectacular live shows, having created some of the most unforgettable stage shows in British music history and the Greatest Hits Live Tour has not disappointed. The incredible two-hour show has wowed fans nationwide, as Gary, Mark and Howard performed timeless hits from their Odyssey album which celebrates the band’s phenomenal journey through the years. Along with special guest Lulu and support act Rick Astley, Take That’s Greatest Hits Live tour garnered much acclaim, being described as a “crowd-pleasing skip down memory lane…” by The Guardian and “a perfect retrospective of one of the most captivating stories in pop” by Metro.

The live broadcast was directed by Richard Valentine and executive produced by Mark Wagman and Steve Kemsley from the UK’s leading live content agency Sassy Films, Chris Dempsey from YM&U Group and Janelle Mason, director of event cinema distribution specialists CinemaLive. The Greatest Hits Live cinema event has built on the success of the Wonderland live broadcast from the O2 in 2017, which in total grossed just over £1 million at the UK & Irish box office.
