Shakira's blockbuster eleventh album El Dorado struck gold yet again last night, winning the global superstar the Best Latin Pop Album award at the 2018 GRAMMYs.

This follows the May 2017 album being crowned Best Contemporary Pop Vocal Album at the 2017 Latin GRAMMYs, as well as winning the singer Favorite Latin Artist at the 2017 American Music Awards; Song Of The Year at the 2017 Latin American Music Awards; and three awards at the 2017 Premio Lo Nuestro. Shakira is also nominated for Latin Artist of the Year at the upcoming 2018 iHeartRadio Music Awards.

Last night's win provided Shakira with her 13th GRAMMY overall, including ten Latin GRAMMYs. The extraordinary longevity of the Colombian’s career is also illustrated by the fact that she last won the Best Latin Pop Album GRAMMY 17 years ago, when her MTV Unplugged album was honored at the 2001 ceremony.

Speaking in a social media video posted shortly after last night's announcement, the visibly delighted singer said: “This is unbelievable! Thank you so much for your support for this album and my entire career."

On Friday, Shakira revealed the music video for Trap featuring Maluma, the latest single to be released from El Dorado. The video was viewed an incredible 13 million times in its first 48 hours online, becoming YouTube’s #1 trending video. Shakira’s previous video with Maluma, for the hit song Chantaje (also taken from El Dorado), has amassed more than two billion views.

Shakira’s El Dorado World Tour, begins on June 3 in Hamburg, Germany, before taking her across Europe and North America, with Latin America dates to be announced soon.
