Barbra Streisand can't wait to see what Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga will do with the A Star is Born remake, because she's convinced the film will be a big hit.

The singer, actress and director starred in the 1976 adaptation of the movie classic, alongside Kris Kristofferson, and now it's Gaga's turn to have a crack at the character Streisand and Judy Garland played.

The Poker Face star recently signed on to star in Cooper's directorial debut - a project he picked up from Clint Eastwood, which was originally slated to star Beyonce before she fell pregnant with Blue Ivy.

Barbra has a good feeling about the latest movie, telling news show Extra, "I feel great about it because I know A Star Is Born will work; it works every time... because the music can change with the decades, so I know it’s gonna work."

The singer is currently promoting her star-studded new album Encore: Movie Partners Sing Broadway, which features her singing a series of duets with movie stars like Anne Hathaway, Hugh Jackman, Alec Baldwin, and Daisy Ridley, and she admits there was one guest on the album who really blew her away with his talents - Jamie Foxx.

"Oh, my God," she tells the news show. "Jamie Foxx has an amazing voice."

The odd couple teamed up to record Climb Every Mountain from The Sound of Music for the new album.

But Foxx and her movie men collaborators will never replace her husband of 20 years, James Brolin, in her heart.

Barbra, 74, admits she has had to change to make the marriage work, revealing she was once too honest in relationships, and now she values "kindness".

"The Dalai Lama says, 'Give truth with compassion...' I used to use truth as a weapon years ago, actually: 'Well, you look fat 'cause you’re fat... I’m telling you the truth'. Truth with compassion would say it a different way."
