Ashanti and Ja Rule recently got involved in an "altercation" after they were told to get out of their car, according to the singer's Snapchat videos.

The longtime collaborators, who are about to go on tour together, were cruising around in a car at night this week (beg08Aug16) when they appeared to get involved in an argument with a woman demanding they step out of the vehicle.

In a Snapchat video, Ashanti can be seen yelling through her open window at a woman, "Why are you asking us to get out of the car?" and when the woman responds, "Put down the phone and step out of the car," Ashanti refuses to back down, exclaiming, "Why we have to step out of the car though? I don't understand. What is the problem?"

Due to the shaky movements of the camera, it isn't clear if the woman, who can be briefly seen, is a police officer.

Ashanti later posted a video update on Snapchat after a gym session to assure fans they were okay. As she walks outside in her workout gear, she smiles at the camera and says, "Alright so we got into a little altercation last night, I know y'all seen that, but we back at it."

The R&B stars, who have worked together on songs such as Always on Time, are due to head out on a joint U.S. tour on 25 August (16). The trek, which kicks off in New York, was originally called the Natural Born Killers tour but has since been changed to the Natural Born Hitters tour out of respect to victims of gun violence. Ja Rule told TMZ.com he feared the original title would be "insensitive to the families of the victims."

The tour concludes in New Orleans, Louisiana on 10 September (16).
