Alice In Chains to play Download

Alice In Chains are to play this year's Download festival, it has been revealed.

The seminal grunge act join Funeral For A Friend as the latest acts to join the hard rock three day event, which is headlined this year by Tool, Metallica and Guns N' Roses.

Also named today are jazz-thrash rockers Coheed & Cambria, intricate speed metal act Sikth, The All American Rejects, Ginger ^ The Sonic Circus, Alexisonfire, Zebrahead, Throwdown, God Forbid, Bleeding Through, Protest The Hero and Engerica.

Previously confirmed for Download, which is held fron June 9-11 at Donington Park, are Korn, The Prodigy, Deftones and Trivium.
