Pop star Justin Bieber has been named as the first recipient of the HALO Hall of Fame Award.

The Baby singer will receive his latest honour at the ceremony on 29 November (15). Host Nick Cannon confirmed the news on Wednesday (28Oct15). The awards show honours young community members from across the United States who are “helping and leading others”, with the Hall of Fame award being handed to a famous face who is doing the same thing.

“There’s no better way to begin the holiday season than by celebrating the amazing work of these four teens and our first HALO Hall of Fame recipient Justin Bieber at the Nickelodeon HALO Awards,” Nick said to Variety. “Justin’s commitment to granting wishes for kids is unparalleled, and his ability to inspire and lead others through his positive actions is at the core of what HALO is all about.”

The 21 year old works closely with charities Make-A-Wish and Pencils of Promise, a charity which builds schools and increases educational opportunities in the developing world.

The honour follows Justin’s success at the MTV European Music Awards on Sunday (25Oct15), where he was the big winner, taking home five awards. The triumphs seal his comeback, following the success of his collaboration with producers Skrillex and Diplo on Where Are Ü Now and his chart-topping solo single What Do You Mean?

It was reported on Wednesday (28Oct15) that another, slightly unusual musical partnership could occur between Justin and legendary singer Smokey Robinson.

The My Girl star revealed he has been working with mutual friend and producer Poo Bear, who is keen to introduce the odd couple, so the pair can come up with some new tunes.

"I would love to do that," Smokey told U.S. talk show The Real. "I had a meeting with Poo Bear, who writes the stuff for Justin, so he was saying we should get together and do some stuff with Justin, so I'm all for that, absolutely."
